Επίσκεψη αντιπροσωπείας από την πόλη Naraha (Νομός Fukushima) στην Αθήνα και την Αρχαία Ολυμπία

Από τις 21 έως τις 25 Νοεμβρίου, 7μελής αντιπροσωπεία από την πόλη Naraha του νομού Fukushima, επισκέφτηκε την Αθήνα και την Αρχαία Ολυμπία. Στην πόλη Naraha βρίσκεται το “J-Village”, σημείο εκκίνησης του ιαπωνικού σκέλους της λαμπαδηδρομίας κατά τους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες Tokyo 2020.
Στις 22 Νοεμβρίου, ο δήμαρχος της Naraha κ. Matsumoto και ο Πρόεδρος του Δημοτικού Συμβουλίου κ. Aoki, επισκέφθηκαν μαζί με τα υπόλοιπα μέλη της αντιπροσωπείας, την Αρχαία Ολυμπία και τον χώρο Αφής της Ολυμπιακής Φλόγας. Επιπλέον, την ίδια ημέρα πραγματοποίησαν εθιμοτυπική επίσκεψη στον δήμαρχο Αρχαίας Ολυμπίας κ. Γεωργιόπουλο. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό, οι δύο δήμοι υπέγραψαν μνημόνιο αλληλοκατανόησης και συνεργασίας για διμερείς ανταλλαγές στους τομείς της βιομηχανίας, της εκπαίδευσης και του πολιτισμού, και συμφώνησαν για περαιτέρω σύσφιξη των σχέσεων στο μέλλον. Ακόμα, οι Ιάπωνες επισκέπτες είχαν την ευκαιρία να έρθουν σε επαφή με τα παιδιά δημοτικού σχολείου της πόλης και να αλληλεπιδράσουν μέσα από την εκμάθηση της ιαπωνικής καλλιγραφίας και άλλων δράσεων.
Επίσης, κατά την επιστροφή στην Αθήνα η αντιπροσωπεία επισκέφτηκε την πρεσβευτική κατοικία όπου συνομίλησε με τον Πρέσβη κ. Nakayama σχετικά με την επίσκεψη στην Αρχαία Ολυμπία.
Delegation visit from Naraha (Fukushima Prefecture) to Athens and Ancient Olympia
From November 21 to 25, a seven-member delegation from Naraha, Fukushima Prefecture, visited Athens and Ancient Olympia. The city of Naraha is home to "J-Village", the starting point for the Japanese leg of the torch relay during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
On November 22, Mr. Matsumoto, Mayor of Naraha, and Mr. Aoki, President of the City Council, along with the other members of the delegation, visited Ancient Olympia and the site of the Lighting of the Olympic Flame. On the same day, they also paid a courtesy call on Mr. Georgiopoulos, Mayor of Ancient Olympia. In this context, the two municipalities signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation for bilateral exchanges in the fields of industry, education and culture, and agreed to further strengthen relations in the future. Also, the Japanese visitors had the opportunity to get in touch with elementary school students of the city and interact through learning Japanese calligraphy and other activities.
Also, upon returning to Athens, the delegation visited the Ambassador's residence where they spoke with Ambassador Nakayama about the visit to Ancient Olympia.
