Τελετή Εγκαινίων του Ιαπωνικού Κήπου του Νερού στη Θεσσαλονίκη

Στις 15 Ιανουαρίου 2026 πραγματοποιήθηκε η τελετή εγκαινίων του Ιαπωνικού Κήπου του Νερού στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Στην εκδήλωση παρευρέθηκαν ο Πρέσβης της Ιαπωνίας, Ito Koichi, ο Δήμαρχος Θεσσαλονίκης, Στέλιος Αγγελούδης, η Διευθύντρια της JT International Hellas, Janine Neuhaus, που στήριξε το έργο, καθώς και εκπρόσωποι του Δήμου Θεσσαλονίκης.
Κατά τη διάρκεια της τελετής, ο Πρέσβης Ito εξήρε τη δημιουργία του Ιαπωνικού Κήπου, με θέα στον Θερμαϊκό Κόλπο, και εξέφρασε τις ευχαριστίες του τόσο προς τον Δήμο Θεσσαλονίκης όσο και προς την JTI για τη στήριξή τους. Τόνισε ότι η Θεσσαλονίκη, κεντρική πόλη της Βόρειας Ελλάδας με μακραίωνη ιστορία από την εποχή του Μακεδονικού Βασιλείου έως και τη Ρωμαϊκή και Βυζαντινή περίοδο, φιλοξενεί πλέον έναν κήπο που λειτουργεί ως χώρος συνάντησης και χαλάρωσης, προσφέροντας ταυτόχρονα στους επισκέπτες τη δυνατότητα να βιώσουν την ιαπωνική κουλτούρα.
Ο Ιαπωνικός Κήπος του Νερού βρίσκεται στη συμβολή των οδών Λεωφόρου Μεγάλου Αλεξάνδρου, Γεωργίου Παπανδρέου και Μαρίας Κάλλας. Πρόκειται να είναι ο δεύτερος Ιαπωνικός κήπος στην Ελλάδα, μετά τον Ιαπωνικό Κήπο στην Αθήνα.

On January 15, 2026, the handover ceremony of the Japanese Water Garden took place in Thessaloniki. The event was attended by the Japanese Ambassador, Ito Koichi, the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Stelios Angeloudis, the Manager of JT International Hellas, Janie Neuhaus, who supported the project, as well as representatives from the city of Thessaloniki.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Ito celebrated the creation of the Japanese garden, overlooking the beauty of the Thermaic Gulf, and expressed his appreciation to both the city of Thessaloniki and JTI for their support. He highlighted that Thessaloniki, historically a central city in northern Greece since the time of the Macedonian Kingdom and later through the Roman and Byzantine periods, would now host a garden that serves as a gathering place for the community, a space for relaxation, and a venue where visitors can experience the Japanese culture.
The Japanese Water Garden is located at the intersection of Leoforos Megalou Alexandrou, Georgiou Papandreou, and Marias Kallas streets. It will be the second Japanese garden in Greece, following the Japanese Garden in Athens.
