Request for a web link on the website of the Embassy of Japan in Greece
 

 

Required Documents for the Application

Organizations etc. that wish to have a link posted on the website of the Embssy of Japan in Greece should print out and submit the "Application" （Word File／PDF） (Attachment 1), clearly stating the date of the application, the name of the organization, the name of the person(s) in charge, their contact information, the URL address of the organization website, as well as their preferences for the position of the link on a specific webpage of the Embassy.

The applicant is required to submit a "Solemn Declaration" (Word File／PDF) (Attachment 2) along with the Application. It should be declared thereon that profit-oriented, political, or other similar activities will not be pursued, and clearly stated that the applicant will have no objections if the link is deleted due to a violation of these terms.

Public authorities or organizations do not have to submit an application.

 

 

Criteria for a link approval or rejection

The criteria are defined as follows:

(A) Regarding the website of the Embassy of Japan in Greece, since it contains links to other public organizations, a request for a link to a website of a private organization or enterprise, this will be assessed from a positive point of view, based on wether the applicant (/the applying organization) is actively contributing to the promotion of the diplomatic activities of Japan and wether the link is used or not for advertisement and profit-making for a particular enterprise. If the Embassy is the supporter to an applicant’s event and regarding a website presenting such an event, a link application to a webpage/webpages related to the particural event will be approved in principle.

(B) More specifically, the decision regarding the approval or rejection of a link will be made based on the following criteria.

  • Positive criteria:

(1) Registered non-profit organizations of a substantiated public-benefit nature, e.g. with past achievements in the field of international cooperation, having received commendations from the Japanese government, etc..

(2) Enterprises having a similar nature to the aforementioned (B)-(1)(e.g. such as they are participating in a United Nations programme).

(3) Other organizations or enterprises having a sufficiently public-benefit nature (e.g. they are actively contributing to the promotion of diplomatic activities of Japan).

(4) Other organizations or enterprises deemed necessary to link to.

  • Negative criteria:

A link request on the Embassy website will be in principle rejected, in case of an application from organizations such as the following:
(a) Profit-oriented or low public-benefit.

(b) Political, religious or of a similar nature.

(c) Contrary to public order and morality.

(d) Pursuing activities that cannot be deemed as contributing to the diplomatic relations of Japan.

(e) Others deemed diplomatically inappropriate.

About the position of a link

Please bear in mind that the applicant’s preference(s) regarding the position of the link will be taken into consideration, however, if the requested link position is thought to be odd or inappropriate, modification on the link position may be suggested by the Embassy.
